By Sal Bianco<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I never thought I could feel so bad as when I saw the mouse.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>It was a he, or she, who kept leaving little spots around the house.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So, today I caught a mouse, and I feel so sad that I could cry,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>cause now, I have to sit and watch it die. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I\u2019m sorry, Mister, I didn\u2019t mean to eat your crumbs from the floor!<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Today I caught a mouse, but how can I ever forget its eyes,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>as it struggled and fought to run from me with it\u2019s cries.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I thought I was clever, and set a trap that glued it to a pad,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I never thought that seeing it caught would make me so sad. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So, today I caught a mouse, and now must try it set free<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>from a glue so strong that it could capture even me.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I tried my best to free it\u2019s tail, and then a leg, and paw,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>but no matter what I did, it became stuck, even more. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hey! I\u2019m stuck.. Help me! Please!!!<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Yes, today I caught a mouse, but now I\u2019m crying like a fool.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hey! It&#8217;s only a mouse\u2026 it&#8217;s only a mouse, so I should be cool,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>so why do I feel so bad about myself, at being such a louse;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Just because I caught a mouse that was living happily in my house.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>It\u2019s not dead as yet, but soon will be,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>cause no matter what, I cannot set it free.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Now all I can do is cry and cry, as I have to watch it die. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Today I killed a mouse, and I feel I too want to die,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>But no, because all I can do is sigh, and sigh, then just cry.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Never again can I think of a mouse, without seeing those eyes of fear;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>that I won\u2019t stop and think, and wind up with a tear. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>God! I killed a mouse, and cannot understand how people kill,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>things that live, and not feel what I now feel, and always will.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>What pain and heartbreak I have in me,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So God ! Help me to never again kill anything I see. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Because I watched a little mouse that only wanted food,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>die because of me, so now all I can do is brood.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>God help me get good feelings back, and not be so sad,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>it\u2019s only a little mouse I caught with glue on a pad. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I\u2019m a man who has lived a long life, and think that I\u2019m so smart,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>but all I can feel now is to live with a broken heart.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>What\u2019s a little dirt and mess, against a life abound;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>that could still be happy, running, round and round.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I can\u2019t seem to stop the pain and hurt that is in my heart<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So God, just show me how and make me smart<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>to never be so foolish again, as to hurt another living being. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The little is squealing: Help! Please help, and set me free!<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Yes, even a little mouse that eats, then leaves a little peeing. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>So what\u2019s a little cleaning after all that\u2019s said and done,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>to save a life, knowing it\u2019s living and having fun.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Leaving little messes after all, it\u2019s only a little mouse<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>who has chosen to live with me, in my little house. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I want to tell the world about the mouse I caught today,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>so that all can stop and think, hope and pray, for that mouse I caught today. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Never again, can I watch a thing alive, die because of me.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Never again, cause now all I\u2019ll do is smile, then help to set it free.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I caught a mouse!
